Frequently Asked Questions
How do I measure my bench for a custom cushion?
Measure the top surface of your bench — length first (side to side), then width (front to back), then decide on a thickness (2″ for a slim pad, 3–4″ for plush seating). If your bench has a lip or apron, measure the usable seating area, not the full frame. See our full How to Measure guide for diagrams and tips on unusual shapes.
What customization options are available?
Depending on the style you choose, available options include: fabric ties (to anchor the cushion to your bench), a non-slip rubber bottom, decorative piping / welt edging around the perimeter, and the connection method between seat and back cushions (for bench styles with a backrest). All options are selected during the product configurator step on each product page.
What fabric is best for an outdoor bench?
We recommend our Outdoor Olefin fabric for any bench exposed to sun, rain, or humidity. It's solution-dyed (color goes all the way through the fiber), resists fading, mold, and mildew, and cleans up with mild soap and water. For a covered porch or screened area, our cotton canvas is also a popular, more natural-looking alternative.
How long does production and shipping take?
Most custom bench cushions are made and shipped within 5–7 business days of your order. Standard shipping within the contiguous US typically adds 3–5 business days. Rush production is available for certain styles — contact us before ordering if you have a deadline.
Can I return or exchange a custom cushion?
Because every cushion is made specifically to your order, we are unable to accept returns for a change of mind. However, if your cushion arrives damaged or doesn't match the specifications you submitted, we will remake or refund it at no charge. Please contact us within 7 days of delivery with photos.
Do you offer free fabric swatches?
Yes! Visit our Fabrics & Swatches page to request up to 5 free swatches shipped to your door. We strongly recommend this for any velvet or linen order where color matching to existing furniture matters.
